“The Starting Block offers a fully-equipped licensed, commercial kitchen as well as two additional commercial, licensed kitchens for specialty and small-scale production... The Starting Block kitchens are available for use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
Before you can book: Requires a Michigan Department of Agriculture food establishment licence, FDA facility registration, proof of insurance and a $10 refundable key deposit, plus an orientation with the kitchen manager.
West Michigan's nonprofit kitchen incubator, and the cheapest published rate we track at $15 an hour ($12 for tabletop-only use), available 24/7. Unusually it runs a small licensed dairy facility with a vat pasteuriser and peristaltic pump for artisan cheesemakers — rare inventory in a shared kitchen. Cooler and freezer pallets are $75 a month, dry pallets $10.
