How we source and verify our data
CommissaryFinder is an independent directory of commissary and commercial kitchens. Rates and availability are the whole reason you're here, so we only publish a fact when we can point to where it came from. Here's exactly how we handle it.
Where the data comes from
- County health-department lists. Many counties publish official lists of approved commissaries and commercial kitchens. We use these as the authoritative backbone — a kitchen on the list is confirmed health-department approved.
- The kitchens' own websites. Hourly and monthly rates, minimums, storage, equipment, and access hours are taken directly from each kitchen's own pricing or FAQ pages, with the source linked.
- The operators themselves. Once a kitchen claims its listing, its details come straight from the people who run it.
We don't copy listings from other directories. If we can't trace a fact to a real source, we don't publish it.
What "verified" means
Every rate and detail carries a source and a "checked" date. We label each listing by how it was confirmed:
- On the county approved-commissary list — health-department approved, sourced to the official list.
- Published by the kitchen — rates and details quoted from the kitchen's own website.
- Verified with the operator — confirmed directly through a listing claim.
Many kitchens don't publish complete pricing online — we mark those honestly rather than guess, and note where you'll need to call for a quote.
How often we update & why to confirm
Kitchen rates, availability, and health-permit status change. We stamp each listing with the date it was last checked — always confirm current rates and availability directly with the kitchen before you commit.
Corrections and claims
Run a kitchen and something's wrong or out of date? Claim your listing to correct it — it's free, and every submission is reviewed by a person before it goes live. Anyone else can flag an error at corrections@commissaryfinder.com.
Advertising and featured listings
Listings labeled "featured" or "sponsored" are clearly marked. Payment never changes how we report a kitchen's rates, approval status, or amenities. We report what's actually offered, regardless of whether a kitchen pays for placement.
Who maintains this site
CommissaryFinder is built and maintained by Riverdale Products LLC, trading as RiverdalePro, of Oakdale, New York — owner John Hauser. We publish who we are so that the sourcing standard above is attributable to someone. RiverdalePro's own verification record lists its stated identity, owner, location and live projects.
